Beautiful blue words etched into eternity

The collection of God’s treasures

And the laws of blessing.

For it is only in heaven

That the last are first

And the broken are blessed.

It is only in this Kingdom that

The wise must become weak

And the rich must become poor.

For what is valuable to this King

Is despised by the world.

A promise sewn into the sky

And imprinted on each one of us

For we all bear the fingerprint of God,

And all must abide by His laws.

To be called blessed in His home is this:

Humility is the loveliest crown,

Persecution is the highest honor,

Poverty of spirit is the greatest glory,

Rejection is the clearest sign of favor.

It is merely glitter and smoke,

The entirety of earthly splendor

Compared with the bright gold glory

That is waiting for us in heaven.

So I will wear these rags as robes

I will bear this sweat as the sweetest perfume.

For my King was also dressed in tatters

He carried also in His beautiful hands

Splintered stalks of shameful timber.

His crown was humiliation

His honor was scars

His glory was the dust clinging to His bloody flesh

And the flies that kissed his wounds were to His favor.

Blessed was He Who bore the cross.

Blessed are we as we take it up daily.

Blessed is the ground the saints step on,

For as they trudge to their death,

They leap for joy, spending their last breath

Blessed beyond measure

Are those who seek unseen treasure.

Blessed are the poor in spirit,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
    for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
    for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
